Pricing
Girvi is still finding the right way to sustain itself. We're working towards a paid model, but we haven't landed on one we feel is fair yet.
For now, use the full app free for up to 90 days.
Download and start your free trialHow free trial and future licensing work
Start with a 15-day free trial right away. At any time, open the License page from the Girvi app sidebar and add your email to extend your trial to 90 days, with no card required.
While you use Girvi, we're working with early users to validate a fair paid model and will share final pricing before general availability.
If your trial is about to expire, or has already expired, reach out and we'll help you extend it.
FAQ
The app goes read-only. You can still view, back up, and export everything you've already entered, but you can't create or edit anything until you activate a licence. If your trial is expiring or has already expired while we're still finalizing pricing, email [email protected] and we'll help with an extension.
Open License in the sidebar and enter your email. Girvi asks the licence server for a 90-day trial key and activates it for you. No card, no payment.
You lose write access the moment the billing period you already paid for runs out, and it's back to read-only, same as a lapsed trial. The perpetual fallback only kicks in once you've covered a full 12 months, either 12 consecutive monthly payments or a single annual payment. Cancel before that and the count starts over the next time you subscribe.
You keep full write access on whatever version you were running, forever. The only thing that stops is new updates, until you resubscribe.
Day to day, no. The only two things that ever touch the internet are checking for app updates and the one-time licence activation, and both work offline too. Turn off in-app updates from the Releases page in the app, and grab new versions straight from the Releases section on this site instead, and if you can't activate online, email [email protected] and we'll send you a licence key to enter by hand.
Yes. Girvi supports unlimited branches, each its own local file, on the trial and while subscribed alike.
No, it stays on your machine, one file per branch. Girvi also includes local backup and restore with integrity verification.
No, there's no in-app telemetry of any kind. If you run into a bug or have feedback, email [email protected] and tell us directly, that's the only way anything reaches us.
Girvi is very much a work in progress, and new features land based on what shops ask for directly. We don't collect in-app analytics or telemetry, so the only way feedback reaches us is when users send it to us. If something you need isn't there yet, use the in-app feedback flow or email [email protected] and tell us what's missing, that's exactly how we decide what to build next.

All data resets every 2 hours, so anything you create or modify will be cleared automatically.
Girvi works the same way throughout: you can always view, back up, and export what's already in there. The only thing that ever changes is whether you can create or edit new records.
| Stage | View, backup & export existing records | Create & edit new records |

What happens if I stop paying?
For example
Say you start a subscription in February 2026. Here's how four different paths play out.
You pay monthly, 12 times in a row
Keep paying monthly and you stay on the latest version. After 12 continuous payments, your current version is locked as fallback.
You pay annually, once
One annual payment covers a full year. If you don't renew, the current version at term end becomes your fallback.
You pay annually, then switch to monthly
Switching annual to monthly does not reset progress. Continuous coverage keeps your fallback moving with the latest version.
You cancel before 12 months are up
Cancel before 12 months and no fallback is earned. Access becomes read-only when the paid period ends.
Good to know: checking for app updates, installing them, and backup/restore all keep working no matter what stage you're in. Only creating or editing loans, customers, and other records ever gets locked. Every past version stays downloadable from the Releases section below if you ever need to reinstall the one your fallback licence covers.
